What is the root Shatavari said to be good for?
Shatavari is an adaptogenic root traditionally used to support hormonal balance, improve fertility, strengthen the immune system and relieve symptoms of menopausal conditions, liver disorders, various infections, sexual and reproductive irregularities, hypercholesteremia, sluggish metabolism and obesity.
Menopausal women may experience benefit from shatavari supplementation. This herb can have a calming effect on hormonal fluctuations and help relieve common symptoms such as hot flushes, mood swings and dryness in the genital area.
Shatavari contains substances that can help balance oestrogen and progesterone levels, which may help reduce menopausal symptoms. It is also said to have anti-inflammatory properties that may help relieve menstrual cramps.
Many menopausal women experience an increased risk of osteoporosis. Shatavari can help to counteract this, as it contains nutrients that promote bone health.
